I’m JoAnn-Marie!
I live in Canada, in a small city called Medicine Hat.
I love to create, and always have. I used to collect toilet paper rolls and scraps of fabric as a child, which absolutely drove my mom crazy! I taught myself to paint in high school, and later attended Emily Carr University for two years. There, I developed a love of drawing the figure and an intense desire to bring goodness and beauty to the world through my art.
I enjoy all different mediums, but am currently drawn to watercolours. I love bold colour! But also enjoy experimenting with simple black ink and and monochromatic washes and form.
I like to try different things all the time, but do seem to come back to the figure or portraiture. My figures are often contemplative or caught in a moment. I strive to portray the inner beauty and light of a person. I hope to capture the unique spirit of each individual.
I adore my husband and four kids, and a good batch of chewy brownies.
